I thought I might as well start out with the brutal truth! Life is going to knock you down at one time or the other! January 9th 2013 it happened to me! I woke up and couldn't move - well I could but it hurt so much that I just didn't for a while. I tried standing up but couldn't keep the balance and had to crawl to the bathroom! This happened after a long period with symptoms which the doctor couldn't find a reason for. All blood test came back normal and I just kept going on with my every day life as best as I could. I went to work and slept more or less the rest of the time.
Finally in April I saw a doctor who wanted to get to the bottom of it and didn't just look at my normal blood test. I did have a bunch of blood tests done to rule out any diseases, a test for depression and a physical exam but nothing was found. As I had already had symptoms for over 6 months, I got my diagnosis: CFS - Chronic Fatigue Syndrome!
I finally had a diagnosis but it only led to more confusion as to where to go from there as no one knew how you really got the disease nor how to get better. Long story short, a specialist in England and a naturopath in Canada later, I have come a long way of which I will go into more details in other posts.
The journey has been tough but I have also learned a lot. It was a wake up call to make changes and start listening to my body. I have had to research a lot on my own but was glad to find my naturopath when we moved to Vancouver because he has been a strong ally helping me get better. I have tried various alternative treatments and supplements and have finally found the right ones and have become a big supporter of essential oils in the last two years. They have helped me in so many ways and I have seen it help many more which is why I love sharing how they can support your body.
Eliminating toxin in our lives have now become even more of a priority and we have started making our own household products and really looking into what's in our products which we buy. I can't wait to share some of the recipes so you can make your own too.
